What’s your idea of strength training? Moving from exercise to exercise with no particular order in mind? This is common for most women, so don’t feel alone. The problem is that you probably disapointed a bit by the results (or lack of them).
Working out without a planned workout is like trying to get all your groceries without a list. Supersets work perfectly for your goals, whether that is to burn body fat or to increase your toned, sexy muscles. To do a superset, you pair to exercises together, you move straight from the first to the second exercise with no rest. Then after you have finished the reps for the second move, you can rest before repeating the superset again for the sets you want.
While your doing the second exercise, your body is able to recover from the first. That means shorter rest periods for a more intense workout.
The pairing of the exercises is still vital for your goals. For example, if you want a fat burning workout plan then I think it best to pair upper and lower body exercises. This works big muscles groups and a full range of motion means more calorie burn. But if you want to muscle tone, then like muscle pairing is best. Pair a hamstring move with a quad exercise.
Try out just one workout program that revolves around supersets, you will fall in love with them. After all, wouldn’t it be great to start a workout that actually makes changes.
