Men are often traumatized by their female counterparts sudden lack of desire for physical contact, this in itself can cause relationship issues. A woman’s lack of interest or desire is not always a symptom of menopause. If your significant other’s lack of interest or drive lasts more than a few weeks it could be menopause. Have some compassion for your partner this change is not easy to handle. Do you think this change is any more pleasant for her than it is for you? Perhaps one of the more embarrassing menopause symptoms for women is the change in hair growth. Many women report hair loss on their heads, in their pubic area and on other areas of the body where hair growth is normal for women (arms, legs). While this hair loss is happening they begin to grow hair in places that aren’t normal, like on their faces and chests. Every woman has different types of hair growth. You should talk to your doctor if you start to notice hair growing in places it does not grow while simultaneously losing hair in places it does grow. It is possible that you could be experiencing menopause.
Many women have reported experiencing a higher degree of anxiety during menopause. This symptom alone can rear it’s ugly head in many ways. Do not mistake these sensations as panic attacks, there is a difference. When these symptoms do not appear to have a known cause or are occuring suddenly it is possible that you have begun the process of hormonal changes referred to as menopause. Use every resource you have to help you maintain composure when helping her through this tough time, she will appreciate it when it’s over.
Simply stated menopause is difficult. Obviously it is rough for the woman who is going through it. The other people in the woman’s life often endure difficulty too. The most important thing to rememer is that the woman going through menopause is not in control of her feelings or emotions. The reactions a menopausal women has to the changes she is experiencing within her body are not voluntary. Understand that she needs your support and your patience. Eventually she will even out again. Recognizing the signs of menopause will help you become more understanding of what’s happening to her and ultimately make the process more manageable for you.
