I hope that I have made since…it’s just that I have always heard that when you do cardio exercise, it’s possible to lose muscle instead of fat if you are doing it wrong. I don’t want to do that, so what should I keep in mind?
As long as you are taking in enough carbohydrate fuel, you won’t cannibalize muscle. That’s why starvation diets and exercise are a bad idea, and why everyone recommends losing no more than a pound or two a week.

keep a high protein diet and it’s impossible to lose muscle. What happens is your body goes into a catabolic state and goes to get energy from your muscle tissue, but when you have consumed enough protein to preserve this it then uses simple carbs eaten that day followed by stored fats.

Exercise won’t cause you to lose muscle. Starvation diets alone or with exercise will. Eat healthy and exercise and your body will benefit.

Depends how hard you go at it. If you overdo it it starts to tear down muscle.
