I have been doing a lot of cardio (at least 1hour a day sometimes more) and I’m definately not losing ANY weight and have even gotten sick. Can this be caused by too much exercise?
I mean got a cold/flu (in the middle of the summer?) not sick to my stomach

I think you’re overdoing it.

Too much of cardio exercise, you’re stripping off muscle; you aren’t burning off fat.

That’s why you aren’t losing weight because you’re probably losing your precious muscle, which is instrumental in helping to burn off more fat calories

(Note: Muscle is metabolically active, the more muscle you’ve, the higher your metabolism and the more fat calories you’ll burn).

If you’re stripping off muscles, the opposite happens.

Cardio 4-5 times per week for 30-45 mins, if you aren’t aim for weight loss. If you want to lose weight, increase the time to 60 mins per session but still keep to 4-5 times per week.

Yes it could if you do too much of it. But if you’ve gotten sick you could be doing too much or not drinking enough water.
    Hope this helps

If you are not loosing weight after exercising an hour an day then you are either not hitting your target heart rate or you are consuming too much calories each day that is not being burned off. Calories are easier to burn for 300 lb person than a 120 lb person too.

DO NOT DO CARDIO FOR MORE THAN 1 HR!!!!! or well thats what i was told, because i used to do 2 hrs of cardio. but then your body works off fat and muscle. so no more than an hr, and rest a day in between. i guess your body was so defeated that it was easy to get sick.

To much cardio can be harmful to your joints. You didn’t get sick because of all the exercise you were doing, you got sick because of the way you were dieting. If you are under a high intensity cardio work out and are not dieting correctly, you can lower your bodies defenses. I wouldn’t do cario everyday, more like 4 to 5 days a week. You could also lower the intensity of your work out. For instance, do more fast walking and biking, and work out every day.
