Which of these is most efficient for fat calorie burning: elliptical, treadmill or treadclimber?
I am looking at whether one of these is truly better than the other in terms of how many fat calories can be burned in a given session at the same speed. Links to useful and reliable sources of information on the web or references would be helpful but not necessary for a valid and useful answer.
Also please clarify whether there is any benefit in this regard of walking (or running) on a treadclimber over walking (or running) on a treadmill while using an incline. It seems like the treadclimber just adds more resistance with each step, but how does this differ in terms of burning calories from just having an incline on the treadmill or using an elliptical at the same speed?

I say treadmill is still the best, good old school, tread climber is like walking up stairs and that’s only so good. Elliptical doesn’t do squat the machine does like most of the work. Good old fashion running is the best, no gimmicks, no support, just you and your legs being moved on a band.

I believe it’s the elliptical, followed by the treadclimber, and then the treadmill, but I guess they’re all good to burn cals. Hope this helps

It all depends on how hard YOU work. By adjusting the resistance on an elliptical or the incline on a treadmill and the speed you go, you can burn almost the same amount of calories on either machine. The treadclimber is a POS…it only goes up to 4 mph and at the highest level of resistance, you only burn as much as you’d burn walking on a treadmill at incline 5-6 at 3 mph or so. So the treadmill is a better investment, since it has more variations. As far as ellipticals, they are the best if you are injured or have bad knees, but a treadmill will burn a few more calories.

treadmill. also, i have an eliptical, and have a treadmill on the way. i dont like the eliptical, it makes my feet go numb and it gets painful. this is common with elipticals. its called like sleepy foot syndrome or something like that.

Personally I have seen more results from the treadmill for burning the most calories. For the best results you have to put together a combination of all of these to keep the body guessing. You also have to keep increasing the intensity when your body becomes use to it.

It’s all about intensity. Like someone else said, how hard you work determines how many calories you burn. Whichever one gets your heart rate up and pushes you is the one that will burn the most calories for you.
